Sketch permissions

Updated over a month ago

This is an overview of the sketch permissions for the Living Infrastructure Field Kit. Collaborators can be invited by email, while Contributors and Viewers can access your sketch via a public link.

Collaborators

Collaborators are people invited by email to access and co-design a sketch. A collaborator can be an Admin or an Editor.

Overview of two roles:

1. Admin: Admins have full control over a sketch, with the ability to:

  • Change sketch settings

  • Change site settings

  • Edit or delete content created by any user

  • Add, remove, or update collaborators

  • Modify the public sharing link

Note: Admins cannot remove the original creator of the sketch.

2. Editor: Editors have limited control over a sketch, with the ability to:

  • View the sketch and see contributions from all creators

  • Add new content

  • Edit or delete their own contributions

Note: Editors cannot change sketch settings, edit or delete content created by others, or update collaborators and the public sharing link.

Public link

Contributors or Viewers can be invited to access a sketch by sharing a public link. A public link can be set to Anyone with a public link Can contribute or Anyone with a public link can View only.

Overview of two settings:

1. Can contribute: Contributors have limited functionality, with the ability to:

  • View the sketch and see contributions from others.

  • Add, edit, and delete their own contributions.

Note: Contributors are different from editors because they cannot update sketch settings, site settings, or share settings.

2. View only: People with view only permission can only see the sketch and its content. Viewers cannot use any editing features or add any contributions.
