Gathering observations

Observations are data points you and your community can add to the map. Observations could represent data collected from any number of sources, including:

  • Community input

  • Site visits and studies

  • Asset inventories

Adding observations

To add an observation to the map:

  1. Click the Observations icon in the top left tray. A palette of observation pins will appear.

  2. Drag one of the pins onto the map

  3. Type your description in the text field

  4. Optionally, use the paperclip icon to attach any images or other files

  5. Click the right arrow icon to submit

Note that some file attachments are not permitted, including potentially harmful file types or image content.

To see the site ground conditions more clearly while adding observations, consider using the satellite view.

Reviewing, replying to, and editing observations

To read an observation:

  1. Click on an observation to fully open the window and view all contents and replies.

To reply to an observation:

  1. Click on the observation you want to reply to.

  2. Type your reply in the text field

  3. Optionally, use the paperclip icon to add any attachments

  4. Click the right arrow icon to add your comment.

If you click on the 路路路 icon at the top right of the observation or reply, you can:

  • Edit the observation or reply

  • Delete the observation or reply

Note that only Admin users can edit other users' observations. Otherwise, observations and replies can only be edited by the user who created the observation or reply.

Exporting observations

To export observations:

  1. Click the global menu at the top-right corner

  2. Click Export

  3. Check Observations

  4. Select a file type

  5. Click Export
